Sarah is excited to join the MUA family as the new Membership Coordinator! Sarah has more than 7 years experience in student, community and worker organizing here in the Bay Area. She organized with Bay Area Hand in Hand, helping to build solidarity among students and employers of domestic worker in support of the California Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. In 2009, she interned for the National Domestic Alliance and Helped launch the “Caring Across Generations” campaign. For the last three years, she has been working as a labor organizer with AFSCME 3299, a public sector union representing service workers and hospital workers at the University of California.
With the union, she helped cultivate worker leadership to fight for living wages, affordable healthcare, and workplace protections. Sarah has experience in member recruitment, leadership development, and campaign organizing. She is honored to help develop the membership structure and grow the collective power of domestic workers here in California!
