National Domestic Workers Alliance (ANTH or NDWA) Coronavirus Care Fund
This emergency relief fund is for babysitters, house cleaners, and home care aides for the elderly or people with disabilities. At this time, the application for this fund is only open to workers who have participated in activities of the Alliance, its chapters, affiliated organizations such as MUA, or who have registered with Alia.
If you are an active MUA member and believe you may qualify for this fund because you are a domestic worker, please contact us to contact the appropriate person to submit your application to receive $400 in emergency assistance from the Fund. .
COVID Fund - Request for Aid for the Migrant Youth Community
This is a fund from East Oaklan DREAMers to provide financial assistance here. NOTE: This fund is currently depleted, and they will not be accepting new applications until more funds have been raised. Please check the website frequently to see if the fund has been reopened. Paid Family Leaveo (Paid Family Leave in English)
Paid family leave is a public benefit from the State of California that is available to those who are staying home because they need to care for someone who has contracted the virus (Covid-19) or who has been quarantined (must be certified by a medical professional).
How to apply?
- Online: The fastest way to apply is by submitting an online application. You will need to provide the following information when doing so online:
- Your name and last name.
- Your Social Security number.
- Your driver's license number.
- The name, telephone number, and mailing address of your most recent employer

- By regular mail: You must request the form on the Department of Employment and Development website: Paid Family Leave Forms and Publications (you can see the instructions and form here: Paid Family Leave Request Form). Disability Benefits or Paid Sick Leave

Unemployment Insurance (known in English as “Unemployment”) *NOT AVAILABLE for undocumented people
unemployment benefits They are available to those whose hours have been reduced or who have lost their job due to coronavirus measures (and also applies to those who choose to stay home due to underlying health conditions that make them more vulnerable). The Governor has waived the 1-week waiting time and the individual may not be required to actively search for work (as is generally required).
NOTES:
- Unemployment insurance is not a public benefit, so it cannot count as a “public charge” against an immigrant who applies for any immigration process.
- Unfortunately, this benefit is not available to undocumented people.
- SCHOOL CLOSING: If your child's school is closed and you have to miss work to care for them. You may qualify for unemployment insurance benefits.
How to apply?
- You must fill out a form and submit it either online, by phone, by mail or by fax.

- The fastest way to apply for benefits is online. You will have to register with the California Employment Development Department Benefits Program and after registering, you will have to submit an application.
- You can also submit a request by phone by calling 1-800-326-8937 Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm.

LUNCH
Free food in San Francisco schools:
Starting Monday, March 30, the sites ofl San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) They will be open two days a week, Monday and Wednesday, 11 am-12 pm But food will continue to be provided to cover five days of meals, each bag will have meals for several days: breakfast, lunch, dinner, fresh fruit, vegetables and milk. Free meals will be provided to all children 18 years old and younger, and no identification or proof of school enrollment is required. Adults can now pick up meals for children, without having a child present.
This new schedule was developed to better comply with social distancing.

Free food in Oakland schools
Oakland Unified School District will also be providing food at 12 locations, where breakfast and lunch pickups will be available for all OUSD students or families and any Oakland children under 18 years of age. This service will continue while the regional Curfew order is in effect. To ensure the least amount of contact, students do not need to be present to pick up food.

Emergency Medi-Cal:
If you or a family member has symptoms of COVID-19, you should not hesitate to seek medical assistance in California! Undocumented people living in California qualify for emergency Medi-Cal.
Alameda County Health Care Services Agency is assisting with Medi-Cal applications including support in Spanish and translation in Mam. Call this number and leave a message: (510) 618-3454. The office will call you back to assist you. You will also find information on the website of the Department of Health Services. One call to 1-800-541-5555 They will tell you what documentation you will need to present.
NOTICE: The federal government has announced that testing, prevention and treatment for COVID-19 will NOT be used against immigrants in public charge testing. This means that immigrant families must seek the health care they need during this difficult time. If you have questions about public charge, you can read this document or see this video.
HealthPAC in Alameda County
HealthPAC clinics provide low-cost medical services as well as medications. In the city of Oakland, you can find this clinic at the Highland Hospital or at the Clínica de La Raza in Fruitvale. There are also clinics in the cities of Hayward, Livermore, Fremont, San Leandro, Union City and more.

FOR TENANTS
Several local governments and the state government of California have declared moratoriums to stop evictions during this period. This means you cannot be evicted for not being able to pay rent during the Covid-19 crisis (but you still owe rent). The conditions of each order vary a little.

BAYWAR Women Against Rape Crisis Line: is available 24 hours a day to respond to women who have suffered sexual assault either in the home or outside the home: 510-845-7273.
