About the Loving Hands Workers Association:
In 1994, MUA members expressed the need for a new program to complement the organization's existing initiatives. Members explained that participation in MUA had energized them to become community leaders and to advocate for themselves and their families, but that they also wanted job training and opportunities to build economic security for their families.
Keeping this need in mind, MUA developed the Loving Hands Workers Association. Through this program, MUA members receive job training and job placement, and at the same time act collectively to achieve decent and fair employment for Latina immigrants.
Caring Hands offers referrals to MUA members who actively participate in our programs and have graduated from 80-hour child care, adult home care, and green house cleaning training in Spanish. Our training is technically rigorous, motivating and accessible.
