Job opportunity


MUA is seeking an experienced childcare provider to join our team of childcare providers. The Childcare Provider will care for children in the various activities MUA offers to its members at MUA's three offices in Oakland, San Francisco, and Union City. The Childcare Provider is responsible for maintaining an adequate, clean, and safe space for each child who arrives for care. She is responsible for planning activities and games to provide high-quality childcare that supports the children's skill development. Additionally, the Childcare Provider will attend to each child's needs during care, keeping their safety as a priority. The Childcare Provider works closely with the childcare team to provide workshops on child development. Finally, she supports MUA in complying with childcare protocols and policies to ensure we meet the legal requirements for childcare.


Main responsibilities of the position


● Provide high-quality childcare to each child according to their needs
● Keep the childcare space clean, safe and adequate in accordance with
the established regulations
● Prepare activities, whether games or crafts, to share with the children during
the care.
● Prepare snacks and childcare space

● Follow and implement the prevention and safety protocols and guides for the care of
children
● Create reports and complete the necessary documentation for each day of care
● Responsible for talking to mothers about any problems that may arise with their
children and answer questions when mothers require it
● Participate in the professional development plan assigned to them so that they can continue
developing their skills in child care
● Support workshops for mothers and grandmothers on child development


Skills and Requirements


● Strong commitment to the movement for social justice and the empowerment of women
immigrant women and knowledge with the work, mission and values of MUA.
● Previous experience caring for children or having taken a childcare course within
or outside MUA
● Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification or commitment to
get it as soon as possible
● Demonstrate that you have a clean life record
● Language: Mam, advanced oral (spoken), and Spanish, advanced oral (spoken) and written
● Feel comfortable using the computer, have basic experience using email
electronic and zoom.
● Flexible hours and availability to work in the evenings and weekends
week in the three MUA offices
● Ability to communicate with children in a respectful manner, and
moderate; be highly responsible and reliable


Physical demands of this position: Being able to carry no more than 15 pounds, requires movement
constant lifting and bending. Caregivers lift and carry young children
They frequently change diapers and play on the floor


Opening hours: It is a part-time position of 12-15 hours per week with a classification of
employment as non-exempt.


Pay and benefits: Hourly pay: $27.88-$28.84 depending on experience. Eligible
to receive sick days and paid personal time.
