On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, more than 60 members and staff went to Sacramento for the Immigrant Action Day, an annual event where immigrant leaders and community organizations came together to meet with lawmakers and advocate for policies that support and protect immigrant communities.
During the event, we went to our representatives' offices to give our testimonies in support of a platform of 12 legislative proposals that benefit our immigrant community, and in particular SB 1422, which seeks to restore access to Medi-Cal for immigrants regardless of their status, and AB 2271, the Emergency Immigration Enforcement Fund, proposed to support workers
