  • Help us find volunteers for English learning

We are an organization that promotes leadership development within our community: more than 70% of our staff are Latina immigrant women. Our organization relies on English tutors to help staff members strengthen their oral and written English and to learn vocabulary that is useful for their specific work tasks.  

Volunteers must be able to commit to 2 to 3 hours per week for at least four months. This includes up to one hour of preparation time, as well as 1-2 hours of direct tutoring time in our Oakland or San Francisco offices. An orientation will be provided. Previous teaching experience is very helpful, but not necessary. 

  • Help us find event sponsors

Are you a business owner, or do you know any local business owners who might be interested in supporting immigrant women? We are always seeking donations for our auction, food donations, and financial sponsorships from local businesses in San Francisco and the Bay Area for our annual dance. Please contact Lourdes Reboyoso, Fundraising Coordinator, at lourdes@mujeresunidas.net to share your ideas and connections.

  • Attend one of our program graduations

For an evening of inspiration please join us at one of our programs' graduation ceremonies. MUA offers a variety of classes and programs that run over the course of 6 to 12 weeks for immigrant women who would not otherwise have access to professional and personal development opportunities.
