This October, in commemoration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, our Mental Health Program Coordinator, Mirna, appeared on Radio Bilingüe to discuss “A Silent Epidemic,” highlighting how domestic violence disproportionately affects Latinas. Barriers such as language and immigration status often prevent survivors from seeking help. Mirna shared insights into the unique challenges Latina immigrant women face in escaping abusive relationships and accessing real protection.
