Dozens of immigrants took to the streets of San Francisco to demonstrate about President Biden's announcement about the continuation of the construction of the border wall.
Activist members of the Northern California Coalition for Immigration Reform (NCCJIR) demonstrated outside Nancy Pelosi's home.
“We have requested meetings with Nancy Pelosi to ask for her support for HR-1511, the registration law that would give eight million undocumented people the opportunity to apply for their papers. We are here and we do not need a wall, we need a real process for the 11 million people forced to maintain their undocumented status” said Renee Saucedo, Coordinator of the Almas Libres program of Sonoma County.
The protest took place Saturday morning in front of Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi's home in San Francisco.
NCCJIR is a coalition of immigrant rights organizations in San Francisco, Marin, East Bay, Sonoma and Humboldt counties, including Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA), East Bay Sanctuary Covenant, El Porvenir, ALMAS LIBRES, Raizes Collective, Centro del Pueblo, North Bay Organizing Project Immigrant Defense Working Group, North Bay Jobs With Justice, Líderes del Futuro, Witness at the Border , National Lawyers Guild (SF Chapter), and others.
