Organizations can help women, for example, obtain a restraining order, support groups and accompaniment.

Alameda County on Thursday offered resources for victims of domestic violence, crime or human trafficking.
“Right now we are seeing that there is more domestic violence in Alameda County, and also a lot of human trafficking, we need to give them resources and help,” explained Lorena Ruiz, “Women of Valor” Coordinator.
The event was held at the San Vicente de Paul Oakland Agency where women and families had access to information about organizations that can help them, for example, obtain a restraining order, support groups and accompaniment.
“Accompaniment, we can take her, accompany the police to make her report and if she likes to come to the support groups, of course that will help her so that she can get what she has and heal little by little,” said Hortencia. Muñoz, spokesperson for Mujeres Unidas y Activas.
La Clínica de La Raza offered healing workshops, for example with plants, and support groups for men.
“There they can learn how to listen to their wife, their children, and in the end have a more harmonious family,” said Hermelinda Aguilar, spokesperson for the Clínica de La Raza.
These resources, they said, are invaluable when you are in an abusive situation.
