My name is Cristina, and I’m from El Salvador. I have been coming to Mujeres Unidas y Activas for 10 years. I came to MUA because I was depressed and I had problems with my ex husband. I am domestic violence survivor. I wanted to get some help with my TPS application and my lawyer referred me to MUA. I knew about MUA but I did not go until I heard one of the members talking about the organization on the bus and she brought me to MUA. My life has changed; I have grown as a woman by taking the trainings. I like the many opportunities MUA offers, this is my second home. In MUA I have discovered my talents.  Before I thought I could not do anything, but I have learned to be independent. In the future, I wish to have health, work and continue working with MUA.
