My name is Maria, I’m from Mexico. I have been coming to Mujeres Unidas y Activas for 9 years. I came to MUA because a friend told me about the organization. At first, I was not a steady member; I came and left many times but at last I stayed with the organization. I like the confidentiality and the respect at MUA. We help the community and we have been to Sacramento to advocate for our rights. I have learned to be humble, to appreciate life, to be strong and to be capable to speak up and express myself. I wish to continue with MUA because I would be lost without my second home.
