My name is Araceli, and I came to the United States from Mexico. I have been coming to Mujeres Unidas y Activas for one year. I came here because I was struggling with a very deep depression. I had an injury and due to it I lost my job. I felt my life did not make sense anymore. My therapist referred me to MUA. I like the confidentiality, respect and appreciation MUA provides. We are all different but we have so much in common and MUA offers a safe space to come together to talk about our struggles. I have learned to sort out what is important in my life, to let go of any baggage or poison in order to let the good in. We have so much to work on in order to make our families and communities better. I want to continue supporting and helping MUA the same way they have helped me.
