Cinthia M.
I am Cinthia, an immigrant from Bolivia who has been a Mujeres Unidas y Activas member since 2016. I love the community that MUA is–full of heart. MUA is one of the organizations that has best taught me to understand the value of personal healing in order to make social healing in our community possible. How can we give the best of ourselves when society constantly tells us that we are not the best? MUA gives us the space and the tools we need to be the best versions of ourselves and at the same time help our community. At MUA I have learned a lot about the various processes for those of us who arrive as immigrants, where to seek help, and the possibilities that exist for us. My hope for the future is that I can be a butterfly again. I hope to continue working toward justice and equality. In whatever way I can, I hope to help MUA no matter when I find myself. Thank you MUA for the work that you do. It is a real honor to be part of such a strong and brave community. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of all of this and for guiding me in finding so many women warriors who are changing the world!
