Malena is originally from El Salvador and came to MUA in the beginning of 2017. She has dedicated more than 20 years to community work, as an organizer, educator and cultural worker in a variety of contexts, doing literacy in refugee communities, defending human rights internationally, creating theater pieces in prisons and about historic memory, documenting social movements, and growing collective power for immigrant and labor rights. It is a joy to work and learn with the mujeres luchadoras at MUA in order to together create a more just world, with dignity and love.
