Sofia Bastida

Sofia Bastida is an undocumented DACA recipient community organizer. She came to the United States at the age of three from the State of Mexico, Mexico along with her mother and sister. His passion for politics and community work grew after witnessing the hate and racism that erupted during the Trump administration.

She joined Mujeres Unidas y Activas in October 2019 after moving to the Bay Area from Washington state. He grew up in North Central Washington surrounded by orchards and fruit packs where he began training employers on the best tactics to protect their employees in the event of an ICE audit or raid.

Her lived experiences encouraged her to accept a position working alongside immigrant Latina women where she could use her knowledge of organizing, advocacy and politics to continue fighting for the rights of women and immigrants.
