Alma Santana

Alma Santana is an immigrant woman from Mexico City. She immigrated to the US in 1996 to get better job opportunities and to help her family. She came to MUA in 1996, a few days after arriving in the US, she began babysitting children, and after participating in patient care training, she began caring for the elderly. After several years of involvement with MUA, she joined the staff as an Operations and Human Resources Associate and is now the executive assistant, her task consist of making sure the executive director has time to focus on her work. Her favorite memory from her early years at MUA is participating in a march in Los Angeles where she was able to take her son and teach him the importance of fighting for immigrant rights.
