Enma Delgado

Enma was born in Usulután, Tierra Blanca, El Salvador and came to the United States in 2003. During her time in El Salvador she was involved in the board of directors, served as treasurer and president of her children’s school, always fighting for the right of young people to have good study opportunities. Upon arriving in the US, she began working cleaning houses. A year after arriving a friend of hers invited her to join MUA, but she was not very interested since MUA is not a job agency, soon after she started participating in training, general meetings and outreach. Now 13 years later Enma is on staff as an immigrant rights organizer in San Francisco. She focuses on membership leadership development and loves going to consulates to speak to the community about their rights as immigrants. She likes all her work but her favorite part is seeing members develop their testimonials and talk to the media. In her free time, Enma likes to dip her feet in the ocean because it reminds her of the beaches of El Salvador. She is the mother of three young adults.
